SB-910 - A high-end Nikon Speedlight offering simple and smooth operation

Nikon J1 review at TechRadar
"Image quality from the Nikon J1 is good, competing well with the average compact camera and approaching that of entry-level DSLRs. In summary, the J1 provides a good introduction to interchangeable lens cameras, although it lacks some of the fun features such as in-camera filter effects seen on other offerings."
Coolpix 8200 review at DPInterface
"The camera performs well in terms of speed and image quality. There’s good sharpness and clean photos, though the Coolpix S8200 doesn’t have a knack for capturing fine details thanks to smudging caused by noise reduction. The Coolpix S8200 is responsive and a fast shooter, but the only gripe is the really short burst duration."

Coolpix S6200 review at DigitalCameraInfo
"It might not be the kind of camera we’d recommend to most people, but for those who have their hearts set on a big zoom for small dollars, the S6200 is a decent choice."
Should You Use a Third Party Camera Grip? - The Phoblographer
"I am a fan of camera grips especially on my Nikon D90. It’s an accessory that I like to use for shooting portraits or for longs days when I don’t want to change the battery. After extended use, however, I have found that they have some advantages and disadvantages."

The Nikon V1 Camera Review – The camera I expected to hate! by Steve Huff
"The strengths seem to outweigh the weaknesses for me right now and the V1 is a camera that can even be handed to your wife, your kids or anyone and they could get great result with it as well. It’s simple. It’s fun. It’s the V1, and it does more right than it does wrong which is a good thing."

Nikon V1 review at NeoCamera
"The 2.7X crop sensor of the V1 delivers high quality images with low image noise, excellent exposure, realistic colors and great white-balance. Additionally, the autofocus performs extremely quickly in good to moderate light levels, making it one of the very few SLDs to compete with DSLRs when it comes to autofocus. When light dims, autofocus performance drops noticeably but no worse than its competitors."
Nikon V1: VERY Initial Impressions... by Brad Hill (Nov. 21 post)
"At this point I don't think it's too early for me to say that I'm really going to like walking around with my Nikon V1. I think anyone who has had experience with other mirrorless cameras and then picks this camera up and actually USES IT (rather than simply looking at the specs and then dumping on the camera in on-line forums) will be VERY pleasantly surprised."
Nikon 1 V1 Mini-Review by the Mansurovs
"First of all, the Nikon 1 system is not as bad as I thought it would be. When compared to the competition, and I am simultaneously shooting with the Sony NEX-5n and Olympus E-PL3, the Nikon 1 cameras actually perform really well in many ways."
D3S review by Steve Huff
"...the Nikon D3s is a world class photographic tool that can be used for just about ANY photo situation. Action, sports, wildlife, portraits, studio, low light, no light, and everything in between. It is the camera with everything in it, even the kitchen sink!"
D3100 review by Steve Huff
"It’s an improvement over the D3000 without question and it has the Nikon look, feel and spirit. If you have some Nikon glass and want a starter DSLR or a backup, the D3100 will fill those needs perfectly."
85mm f3.5G AFS VR Micro review at Shutterbug
"Overall, the superior optical performance of the lens delivered very satisfying results. And that was further borne out by my quasi-bench tests evaluating edge-to-edge performance. The lens showed itself to be a trooper, even at maximum aperture. I did find that there was some vignetting at or near maximum aperture, but this was mild and fully corrected by stopping down to f/5.6 (actual taking aperture)."

Nikon J1 review at Imaging-Resource
"For consumer photographers, though, the incredibly swift autofocus and very fast burst shooting are likely of greater importance, helping them to capture shots that they might otherwise miss, and the excellent video feature set makes a compelling case for leaving the camcorder at home altogether."

Blending Modes for Photographers by Earthbound Light
"Once you understand how a magic trick works, the technique behind it becomes a tool you can use yourself. The same could be said for the magic of blending modes in Photoshop. Most users learn a few recipes for optimizing images that include specific uses but never really how to use blending modes in general. Let's see if we can change that."

Nikon 1 Nikkor 10mm f/2.8 reviewat PhotographyBLOG
"Sharpness is very good, with only the extreme borders being somewhat soft, good news given that the 10-30mm is not very sharp at the 10mm wide-angle setting. Due to the size of the sensor the lens has been designed for, diffraction kicks in at around f/8, so the 1 Nikkor 10mm is typically at its best when used wide open - which isn't a bad thing."
50mm f1.4G AFS review by the Mansurovs
"At the end of every year I go through image data in Lightroom and find out what lens was used the most. The Nikon 50mm f/1.4G always tops the list, surpassing all other lenses by a huge margin. It is lightweight, compact and renders beautiful colors and sharp images."

Coolpix AW100 review at PhotographyBLOG
"The camera element of the AW100 only produces so-so image quality, being geared more towards point-and-shoot users who will mainly use it in good lighting conditions. Noise at slow ISO speeds, light fall-off and inconsistent sharpness at the edge of the frame, and a poor night mode contribute to merely adequate photographs from the AW100."

Gamut Warnings and What to Do About Them by Earth Bound Light

Coolpix S1200pj review at PhotographyBLOG
"Noise at slow ISO speeds, light fall-off and inconsistent sharpness at the edge of the frame, and a poor night mode contribute to merely adequate photographs. Video performance is better thanks to the 720p mode, the ability to use the optical zoom during recording and the economical MOV format, although the video features on offer are still somewhat basic."
Coolpix P500 review at Shutterbug
"The Nikon P500 offers clean and smooth images up to ISO speed 800. At ISO 1600 and higher some color “clouds” appear in homogeneously colored areas, such as the gray patterns of the dynamic range and noise test chart."
D7000 follow-up review by the Mansurovs
"Ever since I published the review, I have been getting a ton of feedback on this camera. While most of the feedback is great, some photographers complain about focusing and other issues on the D7000. Some end up returning the camera back to Nikon, while others send it to Nikon for repair. I have been carefully tracking most of the complaints and I have some interesting data to share."

Nikon 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 reviewat PhotographyBLOG
"The Nikon 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 is a perfectly OK lens for a kit zoom. Centre sharpness is entirely adequate at all focal lengths, especially wide open and stopped down a notch. The extreme borders are visibly softer, at least at the 10mm setting where they won't sharpen up until you hit f/8, but this isn't uncommon with kit lenses and won't be causing you headaches unless you wanted to make really big prints."

The iF design award is globally prestigious award sponsored by International Forum Design GmbH of Hanover Germany."
Coolpix S8200 review at ePhotozine
"The Coolpix S8200 is a premium Nikon compact camera with a premium price but offers a substantial set of features with excellent handling and image quality to match. Nikon have made the camera small and easy to grip while offering a large 14x optical zoom lens. There are some minor negatives such as occasional purple fringing and the amount of noise at the higher end of the ISO range."
Coolpix S6200 review at PhotographyBLOG
"...a small, versatile and easy-to-use point and shoot camera that, while it doens't offer too many headlines features, will be able to handle most of the shooting situations that its users will throw at it. If you want a camera that just gets on the job without too much fuss, then the Nikon Coolpix S6200 is well worth considering."

Coolpix S6200 review at ePhotozine
"The Coolpix S6200 produces decent images with its 16 megapixel sensor and it packs a 10x optical zoom lens into a very compact body, certainly small and light enough to carry around in your pocket. The minimum focusing distance is large at 10cm, but there's not much else to complain about and it is competitively priced at £179.00."

Nikon's J1 and V1 cameras and 1 Nikkor lenses review by Rob Galbraith
"...J1/V1 image quality lands right about where you'd expect, given its sensor size: somewhere in between the best point-and-shoot cameras and better digital SLRs, and because of the sweet colour quality in particular, I'd put it as closer to the latter than the former."

Nikon J1 review at TrustedReviews
"The Nikon J1 is a stylish looking compact system camera that delivers class-leading shooting speeds, super-efficient AF performance and vibrant, punchy images. However, given the highly competitive nature of the CSC market this isn’t really enough to elevate it above its peers and many rival CSCs offer richer feature sets and better value for money. It’s good to finally see Nikon in the CSC market, and the J1 certainly shows some promise, but it’s not quite the all-conquering model we’d hoped for."
D3100 review at DigitaCameraInfo
"We were impressed with the Nikon D3100’s still image performance, as it put up solid color scores, improved dynamic range significantly over the D3000, upped its ISO sensitivity all the way to 12800 (keeping noise down), and was still able to shoot at a respectable 2.8fps. We would’ve liked to have seen a more accurate and responsive white balance meter, but it’s really a small complaint that is easily fixed with a little more babying in-camera or one or two clicks in post production."

D3X review at CameraLabs
"I had a lot of fun being the owner of a Nikon D3x for 10 days and it was a great learning experience too. As much as I enjoyed shooting with the D3x, this adventure helped me realise the D3x really isn't the right camera choice for me and I'm glad Gordon persuaded me to rent it as a trial first. The difference in price between my 7D and the D3x was $6500. Even though I thought the D3x was a great camera, I didn't feel it offered me an additional $6500 worth of value and features."
Tyler Card Nikon D-SLR Halloween Costume Q&A - IamNikon blog
"We love hearing from our fans about some of the work they’ve been involved with, and someone that really caught our eye was young Nikon fan, Tyler Card. Faced with the task of creating an eye-catching costume for Halloween this year, he went above and beyond the average fancy dress costume. We were so impressed with his efforts that we caught up with Tyler to get the story behind his picture-perfect life-sized Nikon D-SLR design."

Nikon V1 review at PhotoReview
"Serious photographers are likely to be disappointed by the V1, particularly when it is compared with the larger-sensor offerings from other manufacturers. Whereas Sony's NEX-7 has the same APS-C sized sensor as the SLT-A77, the Nikon 1's sensor roughly half the size of a Micro 4/3 chip. This imposes a number of design limitations that will be difficult to overcome, particularly with respect to wide-angle lenses."
Nikon 1 Series 30-110mm f3.8-5.6 VR review at PhotoReview
"Our Imatest tests on this lens, when fitted to the Nikon 1 V1 showed it to be capable of slightly higher resolution than the 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6. However, the differences occurred mainly at the 30mm focal length and with the lens stopped roughly half-way down."
Nikon 1 Series 10-30mm f3.5-5.6 VR review at PhotoReview
"On the basis of our Imatest testing using JPEG files from the Nikon 1 V1 camera, the 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 turned in an adequate but uninspiring performance. The highest resolution came from the 14mm focal length a couple of stops down from maximum aperture."
Hands on with the Nikon 1: J1 & V1 - the Phoblographer
"When I think about the Nikon 1 series, I wish someone would have played the Nostalgia card. I wish they would of used and old body design like the Nikon FM. That camera was the start of something new at Nikon when it came out and the Nikon 1 series is the start of something new today. There is great potential here. The handling and performance of these cameras are nice."

Coolpix L120 review at Imaging-Resource
"The Nikon L120 is a good people and pet recorder with effective face recognition and automatic shutter settings. Burgeoning photographers in search of peak image and video quality, however, will be better served by some slightly more expensive alternatives, but for the budget photographer, we think the Nikon L120 will do well enough."
Chopper Work by Joe McNally
"As a NY shooter, I almost feel it’s an almost religious obligation to update skyline views of NY. The city is dynamic, and the skyline changes and morphs over time. The energy down at the street can’t sprawl outwards—it ain’t Vegas, hemmed in by nothing but sand and cactus. In response to people, money, numbers, time, and the determination to recover from disaster, the heartbeat of the city pulses relentlessly upwards."
