"The Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye can in most respects be compared to it's older brother the Nikon 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye. When comparing the two lenses side by side the performance is almost identical. I feel that the 16mm has an edge wide open in regards to sharpness, but other than that they are very similar."
Nikon 10.5mm versus Zenitar 16mm Fisheye lens at ePhotozine
"The Zenitar, on the other hand, despite it's shortcomings, provided you think of it as a f/5.6 rather than an f/2.8 lens, at a mere £120 (+postage) (The Nikon 16mm FX weighs in at £600) represents such ridiculously good value for money, and covers a full FX sensor is the winner for me."

"The Nikkor AF-D 20mm f/2.8 is able to deliver very sharp images straight from its largest aperture. Stopped down to f/5.6 the sharpness is on a very high level across the whole FX image. Optically however it is not without flaws. Vignetting is on a rather high level, especially for larger apertures. CAs are also quite pronounced, however they are easy to correct in post processing."

"As anticipated, the review lens delivered an impressive performance in Photo Review's Imatest tests, which showed consistently high resolution throughout its aperture range."
24mm f1.4G AFS review at PopPhoto
"This lens is clearly flagship glass—with flagship pricing. You may be tempted instead by the bargain-basement cost of Nikon’s film-era 24mm f/2.8 ($340, street), which is still in the catalog, but the older lens is neither as fast nor high-magnifying (1:9), and lacks internal coatings to suppress flare off the sensor."

24mm f1.4G AFS review at ePhotozine
"Once again Nikon's revamp of their lens line-up has produced a new optic worthy of the professional gold-stripe designation. The build quality, focusing speed and optical quality are all superb."
24mm f1.4G AFS review at Photozone
"The build quality is on a very high level including sealing against dust and moisture...So in summary it's a very fine piece of glass. A somewhat specialized and certainly pricey tool though."
24mm f1.4G AFS review by Neil van Niekerk
"This new lens by Nikon is long overdue, and in my opinion is an essential lens if you do any kind of work in low light levels, or desire that look that a fast prime lens will give you."
24mm f1.4G AFS review by the Mansurovs
"Nikon once again set a new record in image sharpness and contrast with the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens, which has unbelievable performance at all apertures. No current Nikon lens, whether prime or zoom, can deliver this much sharpness at a maximum aperture of f/1.4, putting this lens in the lead."

24mm f1.4G AFS quick comments and some sample photos by Kent Photography
"This lens is brilliant in low light condition, sharp and contrasty overall. The autofocus is fast and very quiet. If I have to be picky, the down side is the slight vignetting at wide open."
24mm f1.4G AFS review at SLRGear
"At $2,200, the expectations for this lens have to be high. The 24mm ƒ/1.4G almost reaches them."
High ISO noise on Nikon Full Frame camera – more Nikon 24mm f/1.4 samples by Kent Yu
"What is the noise like shooting at such a high ISO? I would say the image is very acceptable at ISO 8000, but of cause I wouldn’t want to shoot at this extreme too often, only if I have no other option."
24mm f1.4G AFS review by Todd Owyoung
"To me, this new 24mm lens has an interesting dichotomy. On the one hand, there’s the pure utility of it, with extremely fast AF response and a very bright f/1.4 aperture that is capable of shooting in all the available darkness you care to throw at it. On the other, this lens had such a beautiful character when shot below f/2, the unique character of this lens is reason enough for it to exist for me."

"The Nikkor AF-D 24mm f/2.8 shows good sharpness in the center wide open with rather soft borders. Stopped down to f/8 however the sharpness is on a very high level across the whole FX image. Unfortunately vignetting is on a rather high level, especially for larger apertures. CAs are also quite pronounced, however they are easy to correct in post processing. Bokeh is not stellar either."
24mm f2.8D AF review by Oleg Novikov (NikonLinks Russian and Chinese Editor)
24mm f2.8 AF review at SLRGear
"Optically, the lens holds its own, despite showing some signs of age: wide open it shows some corner softness, and chromatic aberration is a problem for Nikon bodies which don't automatically remove it. Nikon bodies which do remove it automatically however, breath new life into the lens, and when stopped down to ƒ/5.6, the lens is extremely sharp."
24mm f2.8 AF-D review by Fredrik Rasmussen
"Chromatic Abberations is very high for a lens like this, and the vignetting is also very high on this lens. For PJ shooters the vignetting will in most cases be a plus, but for landscape shooters this will in most cases be a big drawback. To top it off it's very soft in the corners and needs to be stopped down to at least f/8 on landscape shots."

"This lens is about as far from today’s auto-everything photography as you can get, but it’s also a reminder that electronics alone don’t solve every photographic problem. A perspective control like this demands patience, know-how and deep pockets, but it does things that Photoshop can’t."
24mm f3.5 PC-E review by Michael Weber
"...there is enough room for an advanced mark II of this PC-3 24mm 1:3.5D ED lens, but despite its little flaws I can recommend this current version nonetheless to anybody who is into landscape and architecture photography, or who simply wants to regain the pleasure of slow but mature photography."
24mm f3.5D ED PC-E review at ePhotozine
"During testing this lens has proved itself to be an exceptional quality optic capable of producing high resolution images, with great contrast and also with the added creative benefits of tilt and shift lens movements."
24mm f3.5 PC-E review at PhotographyBLOG
"There is no question that the PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D will serve demanding landscapists and architectural photographers well – provided they own a Nikon D3 or one of its successors. Unfortunately, there are all sorts of compatibility issues when trying to use the lens with older or lower specified camera models, including anything that has a pop-up flash with a protruding flash/prism housing. This makes the PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D lens an even more expensive proposition than it appears to be on its own."
24mm f3.5 PC-E review by the Mansurovs
"As you can see from this review, the lens is sharp across the frame and is very comparable to the legendary Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens. It does have a couple of problems like excessive chromatic aberration when the lens is shifted all the way up or down, some distortion and vignetting at the largest aperture, but those all can be easily addressed in post-processing software like Lightroom."

"The Nikkor AF-D 28mm f/2.8 shows very good to excellent sharpness in the image center. The image borders and corners are very soft wide open, though, and stay quite a bit behind the image center, even stopped down. In addition, vignetting is on a rather high level at large apertures. CAs are also quite pronounced, especially stopped down. However they are easy to correct in post processing. Bokeh is not stellar either."

"This might very well be the ultimate semi wide angle photojournalist lens, if you are on the FX format or if you still shoot film. On the D3 the lens shows quite a bit of vignetting wide open and to f/2.8(f/4 if you want perfection) for photojournalists this is usually not a problem. When you hit f/2 the lens really starts performing."

35mm f1.4G AFS

35mm f1.4G AFS review at PhotographyBLOG
"Optically, the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G is a stunningly good lens. Sharpness is remarkably high at f/1.4, and simply excellent from f/2 onwards."
35mm f1.4G AFS review at Photozone
"It took Nikon a while to get into gear regarding their fast primes, but at least in case of the AF-S 35/1.4 G the result is impressive and was worth the wait."
35mm f1.4G AFS review at CameraLabs
"The best 35mm prime from Nikon with lovely bokeh. Great image quality even wide open on DX and FX bodies. Very good build quality with weather sealing. Quiet AF operation finally on a f/1.4 35mm lens from Nikon"
35mm f1.4G AFS review by Oleg Novikov
"On the upside, fast aperture in this focal length is absolutely addictive, bokeh is (mostly) gorgeous, and sharpness is as good as it gets. On the downside, the lens is big and expensive, slow autofocus is likely to be frustrating over a longer period of use, and, of course, one has to pay close attention to the optical drawbacks outlined above."
35mm f1.4G AFS review at the Mansurovs
"Images came out beautiful and colorful, just like how our client wanted them. The lens does not feel too wide like the 24mm or too long like the 50mm or 85mm lenses – “just right” is probably a good way to define it. Optically, there is really not much to complain about – it is extremely sharp corner to corner and as you have seen from the previous pages, it surpasses most Nikon lenses at 35mm sharpness-wise, especially when stopped down to f/2.8."
35mm f1.4G AFS review at PopPhoto
"Like almost all high-speed primes, it delivered beautifully defocused backgrounds, a bright viewfinder image, and a sturdy build. It promises superb low-light interiors, wedding images, group portraits, and more."
35mm f1.4G AFS review by Todd Owyoung
"In short, it’s everything you expect and want from a fast prime. The only downside is that with this great performance is a price tag to match."

"The Nikkor AF-D 35mm f/2.0 left a mixed impression. Center sharpness at most apertures is as good as you'd expect it from a prime lens, however the borders and corners clearly fall behind. With large apertures, the results are simply disappointing. To be fair, though: stopped down to f/5.6 or f/8 the lens delivers very good sharpness here, too."

"FX users have more to consider. If you're looking for a small autofocus prime, the f/2D is your only choice for 35mm in the current Nikkor lineup. The older manual focus 35mm f/1.4 is a good choice if you don't need autofocus, but much more expensive. But neither of these lenses has the corner performance a D3x user might desire."
